Google Reviews Dashboard Bug: Profiles Showing "No Reviews" While Public Listings Stay Intact

What happened

Google Business Profile owners have been hit by a dashboard bug that shows "You have no reviews yet" when they try to manage their reviews — even though their public listings still display the full review count and star rating to customers.

The bug was first widely reported on July 9, 2026, when Amy Toman, a Google Product Expert, documented a listing with 916 reviews on its live public page showing zero reviews in the management dashboard. Other affected businesses reported the same mismatch across profiles with 200, 400, and 900+ reviews.

This was a separate issue from an earlier incident on July 3, where Google confirmed reviews had actually disappeared from public listings entirely. In that case, one business reported dropping from 4,651 reviews to 63 — a 98.6% loss — within a single day. Google acknowledged that incident and committed to restoring incorrectly removed reviews.

Google is also aware of reviews going missing after Business Profile reinstatements, according to Search Engine Roundtable's September 2026 report, suggesting review stability issues have persisted through the summer.

What this means for tradespeople

If you've logged into your Google Business Profile recently and seen "no reviews" where you know you have dozens or hundreds — don't panic. Check your live public listing by searching your business name in a private browser window. If your reviews are visible there, your customers can still see them.

The real risk isn't lost reviews — it's missed responses. If you can't see reviews in your dashboard, you can't reply to them. And a negative review sitting without a response for days or weeks looks worse than the review itself. For tradespeople where trust is everything, timely responses matter.

What to do about it

Two workarounds are currently helping affected businesses. First, try clicking the "Unreplied" tab in the Reviews panel — this sometimes loads reviews that don't show in the "All" view. Second, reply directly from the email notification Google sends when a new review comes in. That link often bypasses the broken dashboard entirely.

Do not ask customers to repost their reviews — duplicate review attempts can trigger Google's spam filters. Don't dispute your own reviews or make major profile changes to try to fix it. Wait for Google to resolve the display issue and monitor your public listing to confirm reviews remain visible to customers.
