Google Launches Native Post Scheduling for Business Profiles — No More Manual Posting
What happened
Google has officially launched native post scheduling and multi-location publishing for Google Business Profiles. The features, which were tested in late 2025, are now fully live for all verified business owners.
When creating a Google Post, there's now a "schedule this post" option that lets you pick an exact date and time for publication. Google has also added a "Repeats" dropdown with options for weekly, monthly, or custom recurring schedules — so evergreen posts can run automatically without manual intervention.
For businesses managing multiple locations, a new multi-location publishing feature lets you create a single post and push it to some or all of your locations in one click. Previously, each location required a separate login and manual post creation.
Google Posts still expire after seven days (except event posts), but recurring scheduling means you can set up a month's worth of content in one sitting and let it run.
What this means for tradespeople
Most sole traders don't post to their Google Business Profile at all — and the main reason is time. You finish a job at 5pm, you're not logging into Google to write a post. This update removes that friction.
If you spend 30 minutes on a Sunday evening setting up four weekly posts — a recent job photo, a seasonal tip, a service reminder, and a review highlight — they'll publish automatically throughout the month. That's enough activity to signal to Google that your profile is active, which feeds into the new "popularity" ranking factor Google introduced this year.
For tradespeople who cover multiple service areas and have separate profiles for each, multi-location publishing means one post reaches all your profiles. No more duplicating the same update three times.
What to do about it
Open your Google Business Profile, go to "Add update," and look for the scheduling option. Set up at least one recurring post — even something simple like "Now booking [service] for [month]. Call or message for a free quote." Pair it with a photo from a recent job.
If you're already collecting Google reviews regularly, consider a recurring post that highlights a recent customer quote — it reinforces your reputation and keeps the profile active between reviews.
