Google Adds Recurring Post Scheduling to Business Profiles
What happened
Google has rolled out recurring post scheduling for Google Business Profiles, building on the one-time scheduling and multi-location publishing features that launched in late 2025.
The new feature lets businesses configure a post once with a repeat schedule — daily, weekly on specific days, or a custom pattern — and the post tool handles publication automatically for up to a year. Google Product Manager Mike Gnagy confirmed the rollout during a live workshop, and ALM Corp reports the feature is now appearing across accounts.
This is separate from the basic scheduling that's been available since November 2025. Recurring scheduling means you set it once and forget it — the post republishes on your chosen schedule without any further action.
What this means for tradespeople
Google's algorithm now penalises Business Profiles left idle for 30+ days. Recurring posts solve this problem without requiring you to log in every week.
If you're a plumber or electrician who runs the same seasonal promotions — boiler servicing in autumn, emergency callout reminders in winter — you can now set those posts once and have them publish automatically year after year. No third-party tools needed.
Combined with multi-location publishing, tradespeople who operate across multiple areas can maintain active profiles everywhere without the manual overhead that previously made it impractical.
What to do about it
Log into your Google Business Profile, create a new post, and look for the scheduling options. Set up at least one recurring post — even a simple "We're open and taking bookings" update published weekly will keep your profile flagged as active.
If you're already collecting reviews consistently, your profile activity score is in good shape. But if you've been quiet on the posting front, this is the easiest fix Google has ever given you.
